Look, my parents were mad scientists who pumped me full of spider-juice just to see what would happen. I went to Hail Hydra high school and Nick Fury university. I've been extraordinary my entire life. After all these years of insanity... a little ordinary sounds pretty #$%^ great. You have your normal... and I have mine.
“This isn’t the first time SHIELD has been declared dead. It’s an organization that has been in and out of existence so many times since I joined. If the President thinks he finally killed it, he’s wrong. We’ll be back eventually.”
“I remember when Fury first recruited me. I had tried to kill him, but that’s not relevant. He told me about SHIELD and how it operated. He didn’t paint it as perfect and that’s something I loved. I was ready for anything different from HYDRA, but SHIELD saved my life. It gave me some purpose.”
“And this is exactly why I haven’t ever offered to baby sit. Children are a mystery to me. Do two year olds walk yet or am I getting way ahead of myself?”
“I never wanted them. Never liked ‘em either. I still don’t, but I love my own. Every kid is different. You should be walking by two. Gerry’s a bit advanced but I’m blaming that on my freak DNA.”
“Today I have absolutely nothing to do and you know what I’ve been doing? Scrolling through Twitter. That’s it. And I don’t even care how basic that sounds. What’s your @? And don’t lie to me, I know you have one.”
“I only use Twitter in the bathroom because that’s usually the only time I can lock myself away from my son.” Unfortunately, had figured out to get in. “Arachnophilia is my Instagram, but it’s not public.”
“Kids are weird. I bet he would think that you almost having your brain get eaten by a demon would be super cool or something he would brag about to his friends.”
“He’s two. His words include: mama, rogo and spidey. We’re working on the last one. Anyway, we’re too young for bragging rights. He just notices the missed nap times and stories.”
“Agreed.” Daisy replied with a scoff, eyes wide. “Missions to wrong, shit happens. But hey look at us! We’re both here in one piece– so I’m good with leaving it there.”
“Thank god for that. Limbo? Not fun. Thankfully, my son’s too old to understand if Mommy is off having a wine night or if demons are eating her brain.”
“Wanna hear a secret? I haven’t completely mastered it yet either. The trick is being really good at faking this kind of stuff.”
“You didn’t even wait to hear if I said yes. If you want to keep a secret you have to try a little harder.” Jessica teased. “Trust me, I mastered that art years ago. It got old.”
